What should i do about him now?!?

Ok, so last year i was in total love with this guy, who i will call Adam. So i told a girl, i will call Kailey, who i was good friends with at the time that i liked him. She nodded and swore she wouldn't tell anyone. So the next week Adam came up to me in the hall after homeroom and smiled. i smiled strangely back because we weren't really close. so here's what he said, " hey." i said, " uh, hi." then, things went downhill. " So Kailey told me who you like" i asked "she did?" "Yes. she said you are totally into me." since then, a year has ped and and we have moved up a grade. we aren't in the same homeroom anymore, and we haven't spoken a word to each other since. sometimes he looks at me, and sometimes i look at him. i don't know if i still like him or not, but I'm a little scared to say hi again. What should i do? should i let our faraway relationship just p, or should i strike up a conversation again?
