Why is anyone who dresses differently or in a subculture treated like trash?!?

People are afraid of individuals because a lot of them are conformists and they are threatened by people who are individuals. It takes brave people to go against the grain. There is a good book on this subject called The Sunflower by Simon Wiesenthal.
