How do we stop the cycle of hate?
Whether it's liberals vs. conservatives, atheists vs. religious people, or any of various other pairings, it seems you can't ask an honest question on here without people attacking you, attacking each other, or uming your question is an attack. Likewise, I see tons of questions on here that make ridiculous umptions and are about as fair and well-meaning as the clic 'have you stopped beating your wife', where the very question is worded to make the other side look bad, no matter the answer. Add to that the name-calling (Republicant's, Dumbocrats, Hussein, etc) and finger-pointing and it seems like a large portion of the Yahoo! Answers community are more interested in spreading hate or abusing the site as a soapbox to proselytize their particular world view than they are in expanding their own knowledge. How can we stop this cycle of hate, and, more specifically, do you pledge to try to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem? Please do not use this question for finger-pointing or igning blame to the 'other side'. That only continues the cycle.
