What does ku Klux klan do?
The KKK is a racist group that was formed by Southern Democrats after the Civil War to "keep the black man down". The founder was a Conferate Cavalry commander named Nathan Bedford Forrest, the name came from the Greek word "Kuklos", meaning "circle" As a group, their influenece seems to wane as the independance of Black America decreases, and they get more powerful as Black American power increases. So, after the Civil War, when the freed slaves had a fair amount of autonomy, the Klan was formed. Freed blacks could even vote in some Northern states, and were strongly Republican until the 1930's. As Reconstruction ended, Southern Democrats were elected back into to power. The Southern Democrats started to legislate laws preventing the freed slaves from voting, such as "Grandfather Clauses", "Literacy Tests" and so on. As these measures ped, the autonomy of the freed Blacks declined, the influence of the Klan declined as well. The influence of the Klan was probably at it's peak in the 1920's, then declined rapidly due to corruption in it's ranks, and FBI arrests. The Klan experienced a resurgence in the late 1950's and early 1960's due to the ping of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Klan is still around today, but not very strong. They believe the "dark races" to be inferior and simply pawns of the Jews, whom they fear most. What do they do? The burn crosses, wear bedsheets, and act like the inbred that they are.
